Mike Obloy is the co-founder of 3F Construction, where he leads the company’s acquisitions, development, and construction management initiatives, with a specialized focus on value-add renovations and adaptive reuse projects.

With decades of hands-on real estate experience, Mike has overseen the acquisition, development, renovation, and construction of thousands of residential units across the Chicagoland area and the Midwest.  His leadership has driven the transformation of underperforming assets into high-performing properties, including the repositioning of multifamily communities and the adaptive reuse of existing structures into modern, functional spaces.

Throughout his career, Mike has built and led high-performing teams across acquisitions, development, construction, and sales. He has successfully implemented operational platforms that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and streamline project workflows—while managing multiple complex projects across diverse markets.

Previously, Mike served as Principal and Operating Officer at Hyperion Homes LLC (now Home Partners of America), where he established a scalable acquisition platform leading to the purchase of thousands of single-family homes across the country.   Home Partners was purchased by Blackstone Real Estate in 2021..

Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from DePaul University, where he received departmental honors for Outstanding Achievement in Real Estate Management. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the City of Chicago Chapter of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago (HBAGC) and has held positions on its Executive Committee and Regional Board.

Drew Friestedt brings 20 years of real estate development and hands-on business operating experience to his role at 3F Construction. He has developed over $1B of real estate across all asset classes, ranging from large mixed-use developments to regional malls.

Before co-founding 3F Construction, Drew was Chief Operating Officer at Centrum Properties, one of Chicago’s largest development companies. In addition to his operational responsibilities at Centrum, he managed the design, development, entitlement, and financing of the Roosevelt Collection, a $750 million mixed-use development in Chicago’s South Loop. From 1996 to 2006, he worked at General Growth Properties, Westfield Group, Kravco Company and Lucent Technologies where he managed the development and expansion of regional malls, office buildings, and manufacturing facilities exceeding $400 million in value.

Drew holds a BS in Construction Management from Arizona State University and an MS in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
